WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) issued the following statement on the need to deliver on President Biden’s full agenda and pass the Build Back Better Act in the U.S. House of Representatives without any further delay.

“With every passing moment, the need to pass the Build Back Better Act and deliver on President Biden’s full agenda grows more urgent, and I hope that my colleagues in the House follow through on their commitment to vote on and pass this historic legislation by the end of this week,” said Congressman Jamaal Bowman. “For generations, our most vulnerable have been cast aside and told to wait in line for resources and assistance. The vision I am working toward and believe we can achieve addresses the decades of underinvestment in our single most important resource – our humanity. The Build Back Better Act is a critical component to a future in which every person has a chance at a just and fair life for themselves and their families. The Build Back Better Act will lift millions of children out of poverty, invest in their education, and address the climate crisis. It will make housing more affordable and accessible, support families and workers with paid leave, and lower prescription drug costs. I hope that we can all recognize the historic impact this legislation would have on our communities and pass this bill without further delay. A just and equitable future can be ours if we have the will to make it so.”
