WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jamaal Bowman, Ed.D (NY-16) issued the following statement in response to the retraction of a CPC letter sent to President Biden asking for him to proactively pursue diplomatic options for ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
“Ever since tensions increased between Russia and Ukraine, I have been completely behind supporting the Ukrainian people,” said Congressman Jamaal Bowman, Ed.D (NY-16). “I have supported more than $50 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine this year alone.. Alongside continued support, I stand by the idea that we should partner with Ukraine to explore just, diplomatic solutions to the conflict. We must always carefully evaluate the risks of escalation and protracted war – and in our democracy, discussion of diplomacy should never be off the table. ”
